Today was another fantastic day out on the waters of Quepos, Costa Rica aboard the Big Eye 2. I, Captain Franklin Araya, had the pleasure of hosting Brett Borrow and his family for a day of sport fishing.

The day started off with a beautiful sunrise, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. As we set off from the Quepos Marina, the anticipation was palpable. The Borrow family, although new to sport fishing, showed great enthusiasm and eagerness to learn.

Our first catch of the day was a stunning Sailfish. The fight was intense, the fish putting up a great show, leaping and diving, but Brett Borrow managed to reel it in like a pro. The Sailfish, a majestic specimen, was quickly photographed and released back into the ocean, as per the catch and release policy we follow here at Big Eye 2 Sportfishing.

Following the excitement of the Sailfish, we moved onto Tuna fishing. The waters around Quepos are teeming with Yellowfin Tuna, and today was no exception. We managed to hook and land a total of 10 Tunas. The Borrow family, especially the kids, thoroughly enjoyed reeling in these energetic fish.

To end the day, we targeted Mahi Mahi, also known as Dolphinfish. These vibrant, fast-swimming fish are always a thrill to catch. We were fortunate to land two sizable Mahi Mahis, adding to the day’s tally.

Overall, it was a spectacular day of sport fishing in Quepos, Costa Rica. The Borrow family had a memorable experience and left with smiles on their faces. At Big Eye 2 Sportfishing, we strive to provide our guests with the best fishing experience possible. We offer a range of fishing trips, suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers.
