As the sun rose over the horizon, we embarked on another exciting fishing expedition aboard the Big Eye 2, off the coast of Quepos, Costa Rica. Today, our target was the elusive sailfish.
We started our day early, heading out to the deep blue waters. The weather was in our favor with a clear sky and calm seas. The sun was shining, but we had plenty of ice-cold beers to keep us refreshed.
The fishing conditions were optimal, with the water temperature just right and the current leading us to the sailfish hotspots. We deployed our fly fishing gear, a technique that requires skill and patience, but is highly rewarding.
Our clients were eager and ready for the challenge. After a few hours of searching, we spotted the first signs of sailfish activity. The water erupted as a sailfish took the bait. The fight was on, the angler skillfully maneuvered the rod, keeping the line tight and the fish on the hook.
After a thrilling battle, we landed our first sailfish of the day. The magnificent creature was quickly released back into the ocean after a quick photo.
Not long after, we hooked another sailfish. This one put up an even bigger fight, leaping out of the water and showcasing its incredible strength and beauty. But our angler was persistent and managed to reel in the second sailfish of the day.
As we headed back to the dock, the sun was setting, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. It was the perfect end to a successful day of fishing aboard the Big Eye 2.
