What a day we had on the Pacific waters off the coast of Quepos, Costa Rica aboard Big Eye 2 Sportfishing. As the captain, Franklin Araya, I had the pleasure of guiding our guests through an unforgettable fishing adventure. The day was filled with excitement as the fish were biting and the weather was perfect.
We started our day early, setting off from the Marina Pez Vela in Quepos. The sea was calm, and the sunrise painted a beautiful picture on the horizon. Our targeted species for the day were Tuna and Mahi Mahi, two of the most sought-after fish in the region.
Our first catch of the day was a beautiful Tuna, estimated at around 120 pounds. The fight was intense and lasted for a good 30 minutes. The guest who reeled in the Tuna was ecstatic, marking it as the biggest fish he had ever caught. We were also successful in catching two more Tunas, adding to the excitement of the day.
In the afternoon, we switched our focus to Mahi Mahi. Known for their vibrant colors and acrobatic fights, these fish are a favorite among sport fishermen. We were fortunate enough to hook a sizable Mahi Mahi, which put up a great fight before being reeled in. The guests were thrilled with the catch, taking plenty of photos to remember the moment.
Apart from the fishing, the guests also enjoyed the scenic beauty of the Pacific Ocean and the warm Costa Rican weather. They were very happy with their fishing experience aboard Big Eye 2 Sportfishing and expressed their desire to come back for more.
