Today was another fantastic day of fishing here in the beautiful waters of Quepos, Costa Rica aboard the Big Eye 2. We were blessed with calm seas, clear skies and a plentiful bounty of fish.

We started our day early, leaving the marina at dawn to make the most of the day. Our primary target for the day was the elusive sailfish, known as “pez vela” in Spanish. These magnificent creatures are a challenge to catch, but that’s exactly what makes them so exciting to fish for.

I was joined by my good friend and fellow fishing enthusiast, Craig. We’ve been fishing together for many years, and today he decided to try his hand at fly fishing. This technique requires a lot of skill and patience, but Craig was up for the challenge.

We spent the morning trolling the waters, and it wasn’t long before we had our first bite. Craig was on the rod and did an excellent job of reeling in the fish. After a thrilling battle, we successfully landed our first sailfish of the day.

Throughout the day, we managed to hook and land a total of three sailfish. Each catch was a testament to the skill and determination of the angler, and it was a pleasure to witness such excellent sport fishing.

But the day wasn’t all about the sailfish. We also caught a variety of other species, including dorado and yellowfin tuna. These fish put up a good fight and were a welcome addition to our day’s catch.

As the sun began to set, we headed back to the marina. It was a day full of excitement and success, and we were all satisfied with our catch.

Fishing in Quepos, Costa Rica is always an adventure, and today was no exception. Whether you’re an experienced angler or a beginner, there’s something for everyone here. With a variety of fish species and beautiful surroundings, it’s no wonder that Quepos is a top destination for sport fishing.

Thank you for choosing Big Eye 2 Sportfishing. We hope to see you again soon for another exciting day on the water. Until then, tight lines and happy fishing!
