The day dawned bright and clear as we cast off from the beautiful Marina Pez Vela in Quepos, Costa Rica. As the captain of Big Eye 2 Sportfishing, I, Franklin Araya, am always thrilled to take both experienced and novice anglers out into the bountiful waters surrounding Quepos. Today’s adventure was all about pursuing the elusive Rooster Fish, and I am pleased to report that our efforts were rewarded with two impressive catches.

Our day began with a trip to the local bait shop where we stocked up on live bait. We then headed out to the fishing grounds, a journey that is always filled with anticipation and excitement. The waters off Quepos are teeming with a variety of fish species, but today our focus was on the Rooster Fish, a species renowned for its fighting spirit and distinctive appearance.

After a few hours of trolling, we had our first strike. The rod bent double and the reel screamed as the fish made a powerful run. After a thrilling fight, we landed the first Rooster Fish of the day, a magnificent specimen that tipped the scales at over 40 pounds. The angler who reeled in the fish was thrilled with his catch, and we took a moment to admire the fish’s distinctive dorsal fin before releasing it back into the ocean.

Not long after, we hooked into our second Rooster Fish. This one was even larger than the first, weighing in at an impressive 50 pounds. The fight was intense, with the fish making several powerful runs before finally being brought to the boat. Again, we took a moment to admire the fish before releasing it back into the ocean.

In addition to the Rooster Fish, we also caught a variety of other species including Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna. These species are always a welcome addition to any fishing trip, providing plenty of action and excitement.

Overall, it was another successful day on the water with Big Eye 2 Sportfishing. We are always pleased to share the incredible fishing opportunities that Quepos has to offer with our clients. Whether you are an experienced angler or a novice looking to catch your first fish, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable fishing adventure in beautiful Costa Rica.
