Today was another fantastic day out on the waters of Quepos, Costa Rica aboard the Big Eye 2 with Captain Franklin Araya. We set out early, our eyes set on the horizon, ready for a day full of sport fishing. The weather conditions were perfect, with a slight breeze and clear skies, making it an ideal day for fishing.

Our first catch of the day was a beautiful sailfish, its brilliant silver-blue body glistening in the morning sun. Sailfish are one of the most sought after species in Costa Rica due to their size and the challenge they present to anglers. Today, we were fortunate enough to reel in not one, but seven of these magnificent creatures. Each fight with a sailfish was unique, with some battles lasting up to 20 minutes. Our guests were thrilled with the experience, and the smiles on their faces were the perfect reward for our efforts.

In addition to the sailfish, we also managed to catch four groupers. These bottom-dwelling fish are a favorite among our guests due to their delicious taste. Groupers are also known for putting up a good fight, making the catch even more rewarding. Our largest grouper weighed in at an impressive 30 pounds.

Throughout the day, our guests were able to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Costa Rican coastline. Between catches, we saw several pods of dolphins, a few sea turtles, and a variety of seabirds. These sightings added to the overall experience and reminded us of the rich biodiversity that Costa Rica has to offer.
